What damage do moles do?

Mole Hills

As the moles tunnel under your lawn looking for earth worms and grubs to eat they throw the waste earth onto the surface to form unsightly mole hills.

The grass under the mole hill will die through root damage and lack of exposure to the light.

Collapsed tunnels

Where a mole burrows close to the surface, tunnels are liable to collapse resulting in ridges in your lawn.

In areas where livestock graze the unstable ground becomes a hazard.

Disease

Along with mice and rats, moles are primary carriers of Leptospirosis (Weil's disease).

The earth they bring to the surface may contain Listerosis bacteria which is harmful to sheep and can make silage toxic for cattle.

Members of the Guild are required to inspect traps daily and will never use poisons (now withdrawn from legal use ) or gas. By maintaining these standards, they provide a "benchmark" for traditional mole control in Britain.

It might take several visits to eradicate your mole problem depending on the scale of the infestation. We will give you an estimate on our first visit and if you agree to go ahead we will continue to visit until the moles have gone.
